on the bright side...

I don't get to see the orthopedic doctor at the "fracture clinic" until Thursday afternoon. It will be at that time I find out if I need surgery or just a cast/brace. Either way, I'm bound to end up on crutches for the next 4-6 weeks, minimum.

So, what I'm thinking I should do is make the best of it... I'm going to decorate my crutches.

I haven't figured out what I'm going to do yet... stickers is my best bet.

I was thinking ribbons at first, but my luck is it would unwind some how and I'd end up tripping over myself and ending up worse off.

I was also thinking I could do something fun with little fake flower arrangements, but I have a feeling I'd get annoyed with them getting in "the way"... I'd bump them or they'd bump into my surroundings and I'd end up with a bunch of green sticks and tape...

So stickers it is... I'm going to go look on eBay now and search for some fun ones... I figure 6 weeks on these things... even if I don't get any in the mail til next week... that still gives me a month of silliness on crutches, right?

You have any ideas?

I must confess that I am a lurker. I have been reading your blog for a while now, but have never commented. I'm sorry to hear that you'll have to be on crutches, and I hope that the stickers cheer you up!!

I never got the hang of crutches. I just hobbled around in an immobilizer.

ok. stickers. fine.

I assume you are allowed to keep the crutches if you are putting stickers on, that they are your own? If so, have you thought of spraypainting them in interesting ways?

Or, a really cute idea is here. How handy are you with a sewing machine/glue gun?

yea.

looking at them they seem really easy to make. spraypaint the body and sew the padded top part, and glue on the hand rest.

this should give you some ideas!

Do you have some good pain pills? Take a few of those, then you'll come up with some great ideas. Or, send the pain pills to me and let me come up with some ideas. :P
