caution... wet paint!
My father was killed in an auto accident, November 1971. I was born 2 months later. How it's possible to miss someone you never knew, I'll never understand.
The stories I've heard of my dad are few & far between. I've asked for some, but I think people just want to tell me the "good parts". So I've ended up with this angelic character in my head, knowing full well that if I'm anything like my father, he HAD to be a spit fire and had some bad ass in him.
My mom is British... came over on a ship from England to Ellis Island in 1967. My father is American... asredneck country as they come... a military boy who stole my mothers heart while serving in Libya... they got married 5 months after they met.
My mom is the best mom ever... I know everyone says that... but she is... really... no, I mean it! I've learned so much from her... but there are parts of me I KNOW I got from dad... and I wish I knew exactly where they came from. (sports, motorcycles, big trucks, rodeos, no excuses, no apologies, no fears (when it comes to physical stuff), no regrets)

Since my first tattoo, I've wanted to do something to honor him & my mom, but the designs and ideas got so convoluted that even I couldn't figure out what it was... so when I went to Tahoe this weekend, I went and talked to Dan at Lucky 7 Tattoo and thought and talked and looked at some of the work... I finally went back to grass roots... my american dad and my british mom.
