Looking back...

Halloween 2004 was the first day the Jedi & I converted our friendship to the official "more than friends" definition.

We'd spent the weekend with his family, it was the weekend of his son's 3rd birthday... I believe it was the first time I'd met his mother and brother's family. I'd brought over quilts and blankets, extra towels and pillows, so he'd have enough for them to stay over comfortably.

I realized that morning when he called me (a little freaked out that they were at his house and I wasn't,) that we depended on each other more than we were admitting. He was anxious that they'd gotten there a LOT earlier than he'd expected... and was urgently requesting my presence. But when I got there... he didn't NEED anything in particular to be done... he just needed me... needed me there... to support him (and so he could roll his eyes behind their back)

That evening, as his brother was leaving, he gave me a big hug and thanked me for taking care of the Jedi... that he needed someone like me and he was very happy I was around. I was never 100% sure what he meant... but I had my ideas...

After Jedi's brother & mother left, we went up to WoWboy's house and watched football, at one point I reached over to the Jedi and he took my hand, and didn't let go... he held my hand for the rest of the game, and when it was over looked at me and said "let's go home..."

As we were walking, still hand in hand, he said... "I'm going to put on the scariest movie I have that you haven't seen, and every time you jump... I get to take a piece of your clothing off..." and he leaned over and kissed me.

This was the first time we'd acted like this... one time earlier we'd both gotten VERY drunk and messed around, but it was inebriated actions... not thought out like this...

Anyway... 2 years ago tonight... the best 2 months of my life started on a black leather couch watching Jeepers Creepers. (STFU!)
