Hiding in plain sight...

I'm watching "The Pursuit of Happyness"... in it the little boy told this story:
Hey dad, you wanna hear something funny? There was a man who was drowning, and a boat came, and the man on the boat said "Do you need help?" and the man said "God will save me". Then another boat came and he tried to help him, but he said "God will save me", then he drowned and went to Heaven. Then the man told God, "God, why didn't you save me?" and God said "I sent you two boats, you dummy!"
I like that story... because sometimes help doesn't come in the form of a calvary riding up and whisking you off to paradise... sometimes all the help you're gonna get is a whisper in your ear saying "everything is gonna be alright"... and you just gotta trust it's true.
I'm not big on the church thing... but I do believe there's something out there that watches over us all... it comes in many different shapes and forms.... but there's something bigger out there that has a bit of control.
So far, it's done alright by me... sure, I have plenty to complain about, but if I were to really look at the big picture I'd see there are many more things to be grateful for. I faced some pretty nasty stuff in 2007... and 2008 holds some opportunities for me that I don't want to overlook and take advantage of.
I'm ready to get on the boat....

You know, In Pursuit Of Happyness was the first Will Smith movie I actually liked. Well, I tell a fib, I did giggle at Hitch. But he did such a good job in this movie that I consider this one the first truly good one ;-)
